<p>A year after the disappearance of Thai activist <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/category/wanchalearm-satsaksit">Wanchalearm Satsaksit</a>, his family still waits for justice while official investigations seem to have stalled.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Prachatai speaks to Sitanun Satsaksit, sister of missing activist in exile Wanchalearm Satsaksit,&nbsp;about the progress in her brother&#39;s case, and how her life has changed since she made the decision to do everything she can to find and call for justice for her brother.</p>

<p>The mother and sister of Siam Theerawut, who disappeared after fleeing to Vietnam, and the sister of Wanchalearm Satsaksit, who was reportedly abducted while living in Phnom Penh, have been told by the authorities that the status of investigations is a &lsquo;work in progress&rsquo;.</p>

<p>Friends and families of the victims of enforced disappearance gathered at Government House to express sorrow for their loss and submit demands to the authorities ahead of the 2nd anniversary of the disappearance of Siam Theerawut, an activist in self-exile who mysteriously disappeared after reportedly being extradited from Vietnam in 2019.</p>

<p>Eight months after the disappearance of activist in exile Wanchalearm Satsaksit, his family is still searching for answers, while very little progress has been made by the authorities. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The Cambodian authorities must redouble their efforts to thoroughly, independently and impartially investigate the disappearance of Thai dissident Wanchalearm Satsaksit and determine his fate and whereabouts, said Amnesty International today (8 December).</p>

<p>Sitanun Satsaksit, sister of missing activist-in-exile Wanchalearm Satsaksit, is travelling to Cambodia to testify in her brother&rsquo;s case, says <a href="https://www.amnesty.or.th/latest/news/864/">Amnesty International</a>.</p>

<p>On the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, the student activist group Spring Movement and Amnesty International Thailand organized the &ldquo;Separation/(Silence)&rdquo; exhibition at the 14 October Memorial in memory of victims of enforced disappearances in Thailand.</p>

<p>Representatives of Amnesty International Thailand and Wanchalearm Satsaksit&#39;s family went to the Cambodian Embassy to seek progress on Wanchalearm&#39;s case.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The family of missing activist in exile Wanchalearm Satsaksit has filed a complaint with the Thai Office of the Attorney General, the Ministry of Justice&rsquo;s Rights and Liberties Protection Department, and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), calling for an investigation into his disappearance, while also preparing to file a complaint with the Cambodian police.</p>
