<p>The Myanmar government must determine the fate or whereabouts of scores of Rohingya who remain missing nearly four years after the beginning of Myanmar government security forces&rsquo; &ldquo;clearance operations&rdquo; in northern Rakhine State, <a href="https://www.fidh.org/en/region/asia/burma/un-body-petitioned-over-enforced-disappearance-of-rohingya-in-rakhine">FIDH</a> and its member organizations Odhikar and ALTSEAN-Burma urged today (27 August).</p>

<p>Three years since the mass atrocities committed against the Rohingya population by the Myanmar Army, parliamentarians in Southeast Asia are reiterating their calls for the Myanmar government to restore the fundamental rights of the Rohingya, and fully cooperate with international justice mechanisms.</p>

<p>36 Shan community organizations and individuals issued a statement on Monday (13 July) in support of the protest in Kyaukme township in northern Shan State on 10 July, demanding justice for the villagers who were wounded, torture, and killed by the Burmese Army and call for the charges against protest leaders to be dropped as well as for the international community to pressure the Burmese government to take action against the Burma Army for their ongoing crimes against ethnic minorities.</p>

<p>Regional lawmakers today urged Myanmar&#39;s military, the Tatmadaw, and the Arakan Army (AA) to protect civilians from ongoing fighting in Rakhine and Chin states, end all violations of human rights and humanitarian law, and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.&nbsp;</p>
<p>On the 73rd Shan National Day on 7 February, the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) organized a military parade and cultural performance at Loi Kaw Wan, the RCSS/SSA&rsquo;s regional eastern base.</p>
