As crowds of voters flocked to polling stations across the country on Sunday (7 May) to vote early or outside of their home province, they faced many issues, from names missing from the registered list to missing candidate profiles.

A Thai national residing in northern Germany revealed an abnormality in the overseas voting process, finding that a flap on the envelope was torn off before it was sent to Germany. They added that another 3 voters in the same house had the same experience.

The advance voting registration website went down for several hours on Sunday night (9 April) ahead of the midnight registration deadline, leading to calls for the Election Commission to extend the registration dates.

<p>The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) held a press conference on 22 December to announce that only 62 percent of eligible voters had participated in the provincial elections, falling short of the target of 80 percent.</p>

<p>Yesterday (5 April), the People&rsquo;s Coalition for a Fair Election made a statement on the campaign to impeach the Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) at a demonstration in front of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. The petition now has over 7,200 signatures.</p>

<p>The Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) has filed defamation charges&nbsp;against Voice TV host Sirote Klampaiboon and activist Nuttaa Mahattana, most likely for Voice TV&rsquo;s broadcasting on the election day.</p>
