<p>The mother of student activist Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul&nbsp;has received a police summons on a charge under the Emergency Decree, after she joined a protest demanding her daughter&rsquo;s release.</p>

<p>Student activist Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul, who has been detained pending trial on a royal defamation charge, has been granted bail, while Siraphop Phumphuengphut, another student activist, has been denied bail and detained pending trial.</p>

<p>Following reports of visits to detained student activists Parit Chiwarak and Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul, and reports that&nbsp;Parit has been on a hunger strike to demand the right to temporary release or the right to bail since 15 March 2021, and his health has become so frail that he is pale and blood was found in his stools, Amnesty International calls for the Thai authorities to release and drop charges against the activists.</p>

<p>Four people currently facing royal defamation charges and detained pending trial have been granted bail: activists Jatupat Boonpattararaksa and Somyot Prueksakasemsuk, and two other people who were previously detained at prisons in Chiang Mai.</p>

<p>Scholars At Risk (SAR) called on the Thai authorities for the immediate release of three detained students activists and for all charges against them to be dropped.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On 15 January, the court accepted a request from the police to withdraw an erroneous arrest warrant against political activist Chayaphol &lsquo;Dave&rsquo; Danothai after he went to Klong Luang Police Station for questioning with a goat.</p>

<p>Student activist and protest leader Panusaya &ldquo;Rung&rdquo; Sithijirawattanakul has been listed as one of <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-55042935?fbclid=IwAR0m0rs1YMcTT-y_V6S90TTmcm8DskDEAVyfOZctpBdw41J4v_jbU-lSRhE">BBC&rsquo;s 100 most inspiring and influential women</a> of 2020.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On 5 November, a group of activists who have formerly been detained at the Central Women Correctional Institution gathered to protest against human rights violations inside the women&rsquo;s prison.</p>

<p>Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul, Parit Chiwarak, and Panupong Jadnok faced a long night after the court denied a police request to extend their temporary detention in Bangkok Remand Prison. Re-arrest was waiting for them outside amidst allegations of illegal arrest by the police, where violence was involved.</p>

<p>During her detention in the Thanyaburi Prison, student protest leader Panusaya &quot;Rung&quot; Sithijirawattanakul wrote a letter to her fellow activists.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After police dispersed the protest at Government House earlier this morning (15 October), over 20 protesters, including several protest leaders, have been arrested.&nbsp;</p>
