<p>A Thai publisher has for the fourth time since September removed an article from the International New York Times, this time about a recent lèse majesté case. &nbsp;</p> <p>According to the <a href="https://web.facebook.com/BBCThai/photos/a.1527194487501586.1073741828.1526071940947174/1720196594868040/?type=3&amp;theater">BBC Thai Service</a>, the Eastern Printing Company, the publisher of the International New York Times in Thailand, has removed an article titled ‘Thai man charged with insulting Royal dog’ from a page of the 15 December 2015 issue.</p>

<p>Thai authorities should immediately provide necessary medical treatment to Thanet Anantawong, a critic of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.hrw.org/asia/thailand">Thailand</a>’s junta who was arrested in his sickbed and has been held in military custody since December 13, 2015, Human Rights Watch said today. The authorities have accused him of committing sedition and computer crimes for sharing Facebook commentary about army corruption scandals.<br /></p>
<p>The Thai military summoned a former politician in Isan, Thailand’s Northeast, for an ‘attitude adjustment’ session after he complained about falling rice prices. &nbsp;</p> <p>According to&nbsp;<a href="http://www.matichon.co.th/news_detail.php?newsid=1450077613">Matichon Online</a>, on Monday, 14 December 2015, Maj Gen Achichat Rojanapirom, commander of the 22nd Army Division in Warin Chamrap District of the northeastern province of Ubon Ratchathani, summoned Somkid Cheukong, a former Member of Parliament for the Pheu Thai Party for a brief ‘attitude adjustment’ session.</p>

<p>Thai authorities should immediately disclose the whereabouts of Thanakorn Siripaiboon, a critic of&nbsp;<a href="https://www.hrw.org/asia/thailand" target="_blank">Thailand</a>’s junta who has reportedly been held in secret military custody since December 8, 2015, Human Rights Watch said today.<br /></p>
<p>Military officers detained a 21-year-old activist briefly in relation to his earlier visit to Rajabhakti Park with other activists and forced him to sign an agreement not the engage in any political activity.</p> <p>Three military officers and a policeman at around 9:30 am on Thursday, 10 December 2015, arrested Chatmongkon Wanli, a young activist who was among more than a dozen detained en route to Rajabhakti Park on Monday.</p> <p>According to Supaluck, the activist’s mother, the officers told her that they would detain him only for a brief discussion.</p>
<p>A group of academics at around 10:30 am on Monday, 23 November 2015, submitted a letter to Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, the junta leader and Prime Minister, demanding the junta stop harassing and intimidating academics.</p> <p>The letter was signed by about 300 leading academics, such as Anusorn Unno, a lecturer from the Humanities Faculty of Thammasat University, Kasian Tejapira and Prajak Kongkirati, renowned political science lecturers from Thammasat, and Pitch Pongsawat, a political scientist from Chulalongkorn University. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>A citizen network in southern Thailand has demanded that the Thai junta withdraw charges against embattled academics and stop intervening in academic freedom.</p> <p>A network of 50 academics, physicians, and others from the southern province of Songkhla on Sunday, 22 November 2015, issued a joint statement addressed to the Thai military government after several academics last week were accused of violating the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) ban on political gatherings.</p>

<p>Military officers in northern Thailand summoned a group of anti-establishment red shirts for a discussion after they wore red shirts.</p> <p>According to&nbsp;<a href="https://tlhr2014.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/redshirt_1nov/">Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR)</a>, military officers in the northern province of Chiang Rai summoned Somchai Saengthong and three other red shirts for a meeting at the 37th Army Division on Monday morning, 2 November 2015.</p>
