Activists Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul, Panupong Jadnok, and Attapol Buapat have been sentenced to 9 months in prison on charges relating to a protest on 10 February 2021. They were later released on bail.

<p>Although many are already facing a long list of charges, activists have returned to protesting to support the demands made by two activists who have gone on a dry fast for over 10 days.</p>

<p>In a statement issued on Monday&nbsp;(27 December), the lawyer of activists Parit Chiwarak, Panupong Jadnok, Anon Nampa, and Jatupat Boonpattararaksa announced that his clients will not be filing another bail request, having been denied bail again last Friday (24 December).</p>

<p>Activists and protesters gathered in front of the Bangkok Remand Prison on Sunday evening (26 December) to celebrate student activist Panupong Jadnok&rsquo;s birthday, after he was denied bail along with 3 other activists last Friday (24 December).</p>

<p>Protest leaders Parit Chiwarak, Anon Nampa, Panupong Jadnok and Jatupat Boonpattararaksa were again denied bail, according to Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR).&nbsp; The four have already spent 3-4 months in jail pending trial.</p>

<p>Yesterday (22 November), the Criminal Court revoked bail for student activist Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul on charges arising from her participation in the <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/node/8820">19 &ndash; 20 September 2020 protest</a>.</p>

<p>On 22 November, 9 activists were found guilty of contempt of court and sentenced to 10 days in jail by the Thanyaburi Provincial Court according to <a href="https://twitter.com/TLHR2014/status/1462710258921459715?s=20&amp;fbclid=IwAR3yIk0ulYG2F-JCukzkyYytagU2Jx_SKu76NyD7WworAbX8uHMukYnWTv4">Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR)</a>. 3 of the activists are already in jail pending trial on other charges.</p>

<p>A translation of the Constitutional Court&nbsp;ruling regarding a petition on whether or not the speeches calling for reform of the monarchy given by Anon Nampa, Panupong Jadnok and Panusaya Sitthijirawattanakul on 10 August 2020 constituted overthrowing rule of democracy with the king as head of state.</p>

<p>On 10 November, the Constitutional Court ruled that the calls for monarchy reform and monarchy-related activities organized by Anon Nampa, Panussaya Sitthijirawattanakul, Panupong Jadnok and associated organizations were, are and will be abuse of constitutional rights and liberties as they are intended to &lsquo;overthrow&rsquo; the democratic form of government with the King as Head of State.</p>

<p>Five activists detained on charges relating to a protest in front of the Border Patrol Police Region 1 headquarters on 2 August 2021 to demand the <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/node/9377">release of 32 detained activists</a> have been granted bail.</p>
