<p>The Rak Ban Haeng Group submitted an appeal to the Chiang Mai Administrative Court on 22 May requesting a review of additional pending issues in the recent judgement which ruled the actions by Industry Minister and other public officials unconstitutional in granting of concession license to a mining company.</p>

<p>The Network of People Who Own Mineral Resources issued a statement today (28 April) calling for the authorities to equally impose the Emergecy Decree by halting all mining operation and mine licensing process.&nbsp;</p>
<p>A Provincial Court in Isan, Thailand’s northeast, has handed down jail terms to two military officers accused of involvement in a violent assault against anti-mine villagers while dismissing lawsuits filed by a mining company against anti-mine activists.</p>

<p>The cabinet has ordered the closure of a controversial gold mine in the northern province of Phichit by the end of 2016, adding that the Labour Ministry will assist about 1,000 mine workers once it closes down. &nbsp;</p>
