Thai Foreign Ministry delegation visits N. Korea to celebrate 40 years of ties

Thailand’s Foreign Ministry has sent a delegation to the North Korea and presented a gift to North Korea Leader Kim Jong Un to celebrate 40 years of bilateral ties. 
 
According to the Korean Central News Agency of DPRK, the delegates, led by Deputy Minister Don Pramudwinai, arrived Pyongyang Tuesday and was welcomed with a reception, hosted by Democratic People's Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong and Vice-Minister Ri Kil So at the Mansudae Assembly Hall. 
 
Don also presented a gift from Thai Foreign Minister Tanasak Patimapragorn to DPRK leader Kim Jong Un via a concerned official. 
 
The DPRK news agency also reported that the Thai delegation also visited Mangyongdae, the birthplace of Kim Il Sung, former DPRK leader.

“The guests looked round historic relics preserved with much care, being briefed on the revolutionary history of Kim Il Sung who was born at the straw-thatched house and spent his childhood, cultivating his great intention for revolution,” Prachatai quoted the state news agency as saying. 
 
The delegation also visited the Tower of the Juche Idea, Chongryu Junior Middle School in Taedonggang District, the Mirim Riding Club, the Munsu Water Park and other places.
 
They left Pyongyang for Bangkok on Thursday, the media reported. 
 
Recently, Thailand and North Korea have issued special sets of stamps and organizing an exhibition to commemorate the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries in 8 May 1975.
