On 2 May 2023, the Election Commission (EC) announced that a photo allegedly showing vote-buying in Amnat Charoen Province is false, and that in fact it shows the membership registration process of the Palang Pracharath Party. The Party leader said the photo was edited.

An image went viral on social media showing someone scanning ID cards at a rally in Amnat Charoen Province. The EC released an official announcement that they have investigated the matter and found that the image showed the process of collecting ID cards for membership registration by the Palang Pracharath Party on 10 February 2023.

After the data was recorded, the ID cards were returned to the people who participated in the activity.

The EC confirmed that the allegations were false, and insisted that the EC has carried out its duties in accordance with the law and will investigate and take action against those with malicious intentions, the EC stated in the press release.
