The Pheu Thai party is filing a complaint with the Election Commission of Thailand (EC) over a slip-up on a document listing the names of the candidates for Bangkok’s 11th constituency in the upcoming general election, which has been sent to Thai voters registering for overseas voting at the Thai embassy in London.

A document sent by the Thai Embassy in London with information about candidates in Bangkok’s 11th constituency. The photo of the Pheu Thai candidate is swapped with that of another party's candidate.

In the document, the picture of the Pheu Thai candidate is swapped with that of a candidate from another party. The party fears the blunder could cause confusion and potential voting inaccuracies.

Pheu Thai Party's deputy spokesperson Chanin Rungtanakiat said the mistake could damage the voting process and distort the will of the people.

The party is preparing to file a complaint with the EC to investigate the cause of the blunder.

Chanin said that even though the mistake has been corrected, the slip-up has already caused the party harm since confusion remains among those who have already received it.

The deputy spokesperson said this incident is just one example of the EC's lack of care and attention in their operations and raises concerns that, beyond the error in this document, there may be other documents that contain inaccurate information.

He urged the public to monitor and examine the EC's actions going forward and to report to the Pheu Thai Party should another incident occur.

"The Pheu Thai Party asks the EC to exercise greater caution in its various operations to prevent possible criticism that it has the intention of distorting the voice of the people," Chanin said.
