<p>On Wednesday (10 June), representatives from Choices Network Thailand and the Tamtang Group went to parliament to submit a petition to the Standing Committee on Children, Young People, Women, the Elderly, Persons With Disabilities, Ethnic Groups, and LGBT People calling for the repeal of Article 301 of the Thai Criminal Code, which criminalises abortion.</p>

<p>The Committee on Enforced Disappearances has submitted a request to the Cambodian state to take urgent action in the case of Wanchalearm Satsaksit.</p>

<p>The disappearance of Thai activist in exile <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/node/8561">Wanchalearm Satsaksit</a> has sparked a wave of NGOs, activists, and members of the public both online and offline who are calling for justice. Netizens are using the #savewanchalearm (#saveวันเฉลิม) to show their support, while at least three demonstrations have been staged in his name since Friday.</p>

<p>In addition to pressure from Thai civil society, the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the Socialist Party of Malaysia have called on the Thai and Cambodian authorities to immediately address and investigate the abduction of Wanchalearm Satsaksit in Phnom Penh.</p>

<p>As Thai netizens joined in using the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter to show their support, the movement has sparked discussions of the injustices taking place in this country.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The public prosecutor has chosen not to move forward in the case of a famous young twitter user who was arrested for posts about King Rama X. The defendant says he is quite stressed because the statute of limitations is 10 years, but his family is even more concerned.</p>
