<p><strong>BANGKOK, Thailand, 8 December 2014 </strong>– Findings from a recent university survey revealed that a majority of students can identify corruption and integrity, but feel they have no other choice than to participate in corruption when confronted with opportunities to gain an advantage.</p>

<p>Five police officers have been demoted because they failed to prevent anti-coup Khon Kaen student activists from humiliating Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, the head of the junta, during his speech in Khon Kaen last week.</p>
<p>According to Matichon, Police Maj Gen Bunlert Jaipradit, chief of Provincial Police Region 4, on Sunday transferred the five police officers from Khon Kaen Police Station to the Region Four Police Operations Centre.</p>

<div>More than 100 academics, activists, and others on Thursday announced in a joint statement, “Down with martial law… power belongs to all the people.” </div>

<div>The military at 10 am on Thursday released the five student activists from Khon Kaen University with no charge. </div>

<div>Since Wednesday the military has tried to force the group to sign a document stating that they admit their wrongdoing in protesting against the coup and promising not to hold any further political activities, according to Jatupat Boonpattararaksa, a fifth year law student who is one of the five. </div>

<div>After five student activists from Khon Kaen University were arrested on Wednesday morning for flashing a three-fingered salute, a group of 11 student activists from Bangkok’s Thammasat University organized a supper at the Democracy Monument to show support for their fellow student activists, which led to their arrest late on Wednesday night. </div>
