At today's (4 April) press conference, civil society organizations calls on political parties to recognise in their policies civil and political rights, and the rights of migrant workers, refugees, persons with disabilities, children, women, LGBTQi and ethnic groups in Thailand.

The Thai parliament has been dissolved, according to a decree published in the Royal Government Gazette today (20 March), three days before the end of parliament’s term on Thursday (23 March).

<p>As Thailand will soon be due for another general election, members of the civil society are now concerned that policies advocating for the welfare of women, children, and LGBTQ+ people and for gender equality would be used as a campaigning tool, as many political parties have yet to implement policies proposed during the 2019 election.</p>
