<div><div>The UNHCR has denied its involvement with a Thai refugee accused of lèse majesté living in France and also condemned her for disrespecting King Bhumibol&rsquo;s death.</div></div>
<p>Refugee rights advocacy groups are urging the Thai authorities to end the indefinite detention of Rohingya refugees and to investigate the extrajudicial killing of a Rohingya refugee by the police. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The Migrant Working Group (MWG) and Coalition for the Rights of Refugees and Stateless Persons (CRRSP), on Tuesday, 24 May 2016, issued a joint statement, urging the Thai authorities to stop detaining asylum seekers indefinitely and to investigate the extrajudicial killing of a Rohingya refugee by police officers.</p>
<p>The Thai authorities have allegedly deported two Chinese activists in self-imposed exile who are registered as refugees by the UN back to China. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>According to&nbsp;<a href="http://www.amnestyusa.org/get-involved/take-action-now/china-release-jiang-yefei-and-dong-guangping-ua-25915">Amnesty International (AI)</a>, Jiang Yefei and Dong Guangping, two Chinese activists who fled from China to Thailand, are currently at grave danger of ill-treatment and torture after the Thai authorities deported them back to China between 12 and 16 November 2015.</p>

<p>Thai authorities should release 64 asylum seekers detained in a recent raid who are being held in immigration detention, Human Rights Watch said today. The asylum seekers – including 7 children – are from Pakistan and Somalia, and possess “person of concern” documents issued by the United Nations refugee agency.&nbsp;<br /></p>

<p>A top official of the UN refugee agency responsible for protection has called for more concerted support to resolve the plight of displaced people in Myanmar and those with undetermined citizenship.</p> <p>UNHCR's Assistant High Commissioner for Protection, Volker Türk, made his remarks at the end of a five-day mission to Myanmar on Monday during which he visited Yangon and the capital Nay Pyi Taw, as well as Sittwe and Maungdaw in Rakhine state.</p>
