The six defendants in the Thai Federation protest case were called to court to hear charges of incitement, forming a secret society, and violating the Public Assembly Act.

Following the demonstration at the Pathumwan skywalk in front of MBK Centre on 5 December 2018, in which the six protestors wore black shirts and displayed a Thai Federation banner, TLHR reported on 20 February that the Office of the Attorney General issued an order to prosecute the 6 defendants for incitement under Article 116 of the criminal code, forming a secret society under Section 209, and holding an unauthorized public assembly and holding a public assembly within 150 metres of a royal palace under the 2015 Public Assembly Act.

The indictment said that the six defendants are members of the Thai Federation group and were involved in the demonstration within 150 metres of Sa Prathum Palace. The defendants are also part of an online movement, mobilizing group members and the general public, and distribute pamphlets to induce group members and the public to oppose the monarchy, the government, and the NCPO, and to support the creation of a Thai Federation.

The six defendants denied all charges and chose to go to trial. They were released on bail while the court considers the case. The next hearing is scheduled for 22 April 2019.
