A post mortem has shown that an army conscript died from a chronic illness and not from ill-treatment.  The mother has accepted the finding.

Dr Chalita Chumyuang at Songklanagarind Hospital, Prince of Songkhla University, was reported by the Bangkok Post to have found that Adisak Noiphithak, a 21-year-old army private recently conscripted to Thep Satri Si Sunthon Camp in Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, died from a chronic illness.

His mother, Tueanchai Noiphithak, had earlier alleged that the death was the result of ill-treatment.  But the post mortem established that death was caused by peritonitis from a perforated ulcer.  There were no broken bones or external injuries.  Tueanchai now says that she accepts the autopsy results.

The initial allegation aroused wide interest on social media in light of numerous earlier cases of military ill-treatment of soldiers, sometimes resulting in death.
