Internal Human Rights Development has to be achieved before democracy state establishment.

Afflictions, fearfulness and dispirited living under political suppression which have been continued for 20 years or more in Myanmar are the manifestation of the fact that we are hopeless for human rights development in Myanmar as SPDC has tried to present to international community.

In world human rights development history has never been revealed that human rights development can be established in society abound with restricted freedom, political imprisonment and execution. In the other hand, human rights development can be commenced with people consciousness disengagement for people participation on country development policy on behalf of state owners.

Since human rights development is the key to national development including politics, economics, social and culture aspects, many countries have realized that national development and human rights development cannot be separated if we dream of equality, justice and democratic society.

In virtue of instantaneously concrete human rights development in Myanmar, Amnesty International Thailand would like to address some remarks and appeals to SPDC and United Nations as follow;

  1. As SPDC has tried to bend on democracy development by drafting constitution and handle general election, country development and human rights development can not be separated by mean of rigorous implementation of Universal Declaration of Human Rights and ratified international covenant and convention.

  2. SPDC to immediately release of almost 2,000 political prisoners, especially immediate and unconditionally release Aung San Suu Kyi, U Win Tin and 20 political prisoners who are suffered from health problems, in order to enhance all people together to join hands in development and show sincerity towards democratic development.

  3. SPDC have to cease all kind of repression and hostilities against ethnic groups including affirmation of the basic rights of them as state civilians.

  4. United Nations have to accelerate eliminating human rights development barriers in Myanmar seriously without any compromises with the country supporting human rights violations.
