The military on Wednesday filed a lèse majesté complaint against a key witness to military killings in 2010 and a suspect in an explosives attack at a Bangkok court. 
 
Col Wijan Jodtaeng, Director of the Law and Human Rights Department of the Internal Security Operation Command, and other staff of the junta’s National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) on Wednesday filed the complaint with the police against Nattatida Meewangpla under Article 112. 
 
Col Wijan also submitted as evidence screenshots of chat logs of the suspect in the Line chat application. 
 
The police accused her of being involved in a terrorist plot which consisted of explosions in front of the Ratchada Criminal Court and Siam Square and other planned bombings in Bangkok. 
 
Earlier on Wednesday, the court granted a police custody petition to detain her for 12 days at Bangkok’s Women’s Correctional Centre. 
 
The police showed her to the press on Wednesday after she was detained incommunicado for seven days, the maximum pre-charge detention allowed under martial law. 
 
A volunteer medic during the 2010 military crackdown on the red shirts, Nattatida worked alongside Kamonked Akhad, another volunteer, who was shot dead in Pathum Wanaram temple on 19 May 2010. That made her the key witness of the Army’s shooting of civilians in the temple.
