Senior journalist of The Nation newspaper Pravit Rojanapruk was released on Saturday around 3 p.m. As similar to other released detainees, he had to sign a condition agreeing that he was not hurt during detention, forbidden from any political rally, and required to inform the authorities if he was to travel abroad.

Pravit said during the detention at a military barrack in Ratchaburi province, the soldiers exchanged with him political opinion on various topics. While they did not forbid him to criticise the regime, they asked him to wait for a while.

He insisted that he would have to criticise the political situation as duty, but with softer and more understanding of the military.

“I still confirm my stance that I oppose the coup de tat. While in detention I’ve told them that all these actions, whether blocking the street or arresting people, all will have consequences,” he told Prachatai.

Fah Deaw Kan magazine editor Thanapol Eawsakul, and Philosophy lecturer Suraphot Thaweesak, who were aslo summoned on May 23, same day with Pravit, were released on Friday evening with similar conditions.
