Spring News reported that the Permanent Secretary of the ICT Ministry on Wednesday told media that the ministry was ordered by the military junta to temporarily block Facebook because the service was being used to provoke conflict and violence.  
 
At about 3pm, users began reporting that they cannot access Facebook from various Internet service providers. 
 
At 4.30pm, users reported that they could not access Facebook normally. 
 
Also at around 4.30, the Deputy Spokesman of the Thai Army said the NCPO did not order the blockage of Facebook since it would cause difficulties to Thai people, Bangkok Biz News reported.
