Student activists from northeastern Mahasarakham University and Khon Kaen University were summoned by the Army on Tuesday. At press time, five students from Mahasarakham University had already been released but one was still in detention.

The Peace Keeping Command of Mahasarakham province had earlier sent a letter to the university rector and asked the six students to report themselves to the army on Tuesday by 11 a.m.

After five students were released on Tuesday around 3 p.m., three more student activists also from Mahasarakham University were summoned, although their names were not listed in the official summons order. They are still in detention and it is unclear where the army would take them.

Those released said the army “warned” them not to do any political activism during the martial law.

Two student activists from Khon Kaen University were also summoned but they have not reported themselves to the Army.
