The Thai Army issued an order under Martial Law at around 8 pm on Tuesday, prohibiting media from interviewing anyone other than current civil servants, which may “bring about conflict, distortion (of fact), and cause confusion to society, which may lead to violence.”

This is the 9th order from the military-led Peace and Order Maintaining Command (POMC) after an illegal imposition of the century-old Martial Law on early Tuesday morning.

This is the third attempt by the Army, led by Army Chief Prayuth Chan-ocha, to silence criticism after the POMC issued two previous orders on Tuesday to shut down a total of 14 satellite TV channels, both pro- and anti-government, and unlicensed community radio stations.
