Groups of political activists, including the Students Federation of Thailand (SFT), on Thursday organized a symbolic activity in front of the ruling Phue Thai headquarter in Bangkok, expressing their opposition against the recent uses of lese majeste law or Article 112.

The masks worn by the activists are lese majeste prisoners, such as Somyos Pruksakasemsuk, Darane Charnchoengsilpakul, aka Da Torpedo, and the late "Uncle SMS," who died in jail while serving jail term.

On April 9, PM’s secretary Suranand Vejjajiva sent a letter to the Royal Thai Police, urging the police to speed up the lèse majesté case against Wuthipong Kachathamkun, aka Kotee, a hardcore anti-establishment red-shirt activist because of his interview with a foreign medium.

On April 12, a Phue Thai member filed a lese majeste complain against Suthep Thuagsuban, the anti-government People's Democratic for Democracy (PDRC) leader for his speech.

The group said since the party was elected according to the democratic rule, it should protect freedom of expression, as a pillar of democracy, and not to use the Article 112 against anybody.
