On 27 April, Fah Diew Kan editor Thanapol Eawsakul was summoned by the Crime Suppression Division as a witness to possible lèse majesté cases against over 50 people who posted messages on the magazine’s webboard about a couple of years ago.

The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology has found that 46 URLs or pages of the webboard contained offensive messages and over 50 posters were involved.

Thanapol told the police that he did not know about the messages, and he could not check them as the Same Sky webboard had already been closed.

Most of the posters wanted by police used aliases, some of which cannot be mentioned under the lèse majesté law.  Only two persons used their real names - historian Somsak Jeamteerasakul and law lecturer Piyabutr Saengkanokkul of Thammasat University.

The Same Sky webboard was the first online forum to allow open debate about the monarchy in Thailand.  Due to too frequent summonses from the police, Thanapol decided to close the webboard in late 2009. It was then taken over by a group of members and still continues as www.weareallhuman.info.
