Several groups of people demonstrated in front of the UN office in Bangkok. The UN regional human rights representative said the UN Security Council will hold an urgent meeting on Thailand this evening. The Representative requested the public to submit evidence of human rights violations.

After meeting a group of concerned people, Mr. Homayoun Alizadeh, the Regional Representative for South-East Asia, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, explained that the United Nations cannot intervene in the domestic affairs of any country without the state's consent. However, it can step in on issues of human rights. There will be an urgent meeting on the human rights situation in Thailand at the UN Headquarters this evening. The Regional Representative urged the public to submit evidence of human rights violations such as photographs and video clips. The evidence can be submitted to the UN office at Makkawan bridge.

Suthachai Yimprasert, a lecturer at Chulalongkorn University, tried to convince the people in front of the UN office to disperse. A group of the protesters said they would join the protest at other sites because they believed the government was not going to stop shooting. They also claimed to have received phone calls from their relatives in the Ratchaprasong area informing them about the violence there.

At around 14.18 pm, soldiers riding 20 motorcycles passed Makkawan bridge with several trucks loaded with fully-armed soldiers seen on the road. This angered some of the protesters in front of the UN office.
