The Emergency Operations Command’s order to block PTV has affected over 10 other customers of the Thaicom satellite.  PM’s Office Minister Sathit Wongnongtoey says the Thaicom company has to take responsibility for compensation.

On 9 April, Sathit told the press at the 11th Infantry Regiment that over 10 customers of the Thaicom satellite had been affected by the government’s order under the Emergency Decree to block the CU-band transmission.

As Thaicom had breached its contract with the MICT under the Emergency Decree, the government had to send security forces to shut down transmission.  Any damages resulting from the government’s action had to be borne by the Thaicom Company, the Minister said.

He has ordered the Public Relations Department to instruct cable TV entrepreneurs all over the country to stop broadcasting content which is distorted or meant to instigate the public.  He has also asked similar cooperation from internet service providers.
