An ABAC opinion survey conducted on 5 Dec after the broadcast ceremony celebrating HM the King’s birthday found that among 1,147 respondents across the country, 81.9% said they were inspired to cope with their own problems in life.  The level of happiness among Thais reached 9.86 on a 10-point scale, even higher than the level of 9.21 at the 60th anniversary of HM’s ascension to the throne in June 2006.

The most important advice of the King that people should follow is to live with sufficiency, the poll said.

Suan Dusit Poll surveyed 2,589 respondents throughout the country during 1-4 Dec, and found that 70.28% were impressed by the royal visits to the people across the country, and 43.19% felt happy every time they recalled the King’s numerous duties for the people.  In honour of HM the King, 53.82% wished to be good and honest persons.  43.71% did not want anyone to bring the disunity among the Thais to irritate His Majesty.  ‘Song Phra Charoen’, the Thai equivalent of Long Live the King, topped the list of expressions the respondents (38.74%) wished for the King, with the second being ‘Wishing HM the King good health’ (30.82%).
