Amidst the war between Israel and Palestine, which has resulted in the unconfirmed deaths of 12 Thais, the Royal Thai Embassy in Tel Aviv has been accepting requests from Thai nationals who wish to leave Israel.

Out of approximately 30,000 Thai labourers in Israel, 5,000 of them located near the Gaza border, a total of 1,099 have requested evacuation, while 22 have expressed their intention to stay in the country, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA).

On Monday, the Thai embassy in Tel Aviv reported that as of 4.38 pm, 9 Thais have been injured, 11 taken hostage, and 12 fatalities reported by employers. The number of fatalities has not yet been confirmed by the Israeli authorities.

Pannabha Chandraramya, the Thai Ambassador in Tel Aviv, stated that the situation in the area remains intense, with continuous rocket attacks from Gaza, although the MFA does NOT identify the perpetrator. The Israeli government has attempted to tighten control over the area. There are casualties and fatalities among civilians on both sides. It is confirmed that more than 100 people have been held captive, including foreigners.

Israel's Minister of Defence has declared a state of emergency throughout the country, granting the military the authority to issue security orders and close civilian facilities as deemed necessary. Additionally, today, the Israeli military has announced the evacuation of all residents from towns near the Gaza border within 24 hours, a spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, the MFA stated that the Israeli government does not see the need for evacuation at this time. Israeli airspace is open as usual, although there has been a 50% reduction in flights. Citizens can leave the country by commercial flights. But If any government wishes to arrange evacuations using different means, they can contact the Israeli Foreign Ministry for assistance.
