The Election Commission (EC) has passed a resolution to recount the party-list votes in 31 polling stations and the constituency votes in 16, due to discrepancies between the results and the number of ballots and eligible voters, Thai PBS reports. There were 95,000 polling stations in all.

The decision was made yesterday but the polling stations due for recounts have not yet been specified. The recounts will be held on June 11.

The EC stated that there was an issue where the number of ballots and the number of voters matched, but the results did not align with those numbers. The EC believes that this could affect the number of votes each political party received and consequently the candidates elected from the party lists.

The EC is in the process of preparing a directive for the EC chairman's approval and it will subsequently inform the provincial election directors, according to Thai PBS.
