Thai children and young people are stepping up to fight climate change at national and local levels, but their voices are often ignored, their efforts underfunded, and their safety put at risk. These are the findings of a new UNICEF report, “Between Generations, One Planet”, launched today. The findings help drive UNICEF’s new, action-focused #CountMeIn campaign designed to support more young people to take action with greater support from across society.

<p>BANGKOK, 6 May 2021 &ndash;&nbsp;UNICEF is ramping up support to help curb the recent surge in Covid-19 cases in Bangkok&rsquo;s Khlong Toei community through distributing&nbsp;UHT milk and hygiene supplies, providing critical information and guidelines as well as mobilizing community workers and volunteers to protect the most vulnerable children and families.</p>

<p>UNICEF has issued a statement after the alleged sexual assault of two teenage girls at a Mukdahan school by their teachers and the school&rsquo;s former students was reported in the media last week, raising concern about the lack of protection for children in schools and calling for the authorities involved to reinforce their efforts to ensure prevention of violence in schools and to ensure that the survivors are protected.</p>
