<p>A Facebook user from Phitsanulok was arrested on Thursday (2 December) on a royal defamation charge, after she posted a picture of King Vajiralongkorn changing the seasonal decoration of the Emerald Buddha, edited so that the Buddha is wearing a dress.</p>

<p>On Friday morning (17 September), police officers raided the house of members of the student activist group United Front of Thammasat and Demonstration (UFTD), confiscating mobile phones and computers and arresting one person.</p>

<p>Activist and human rights lawyer Anon Nampa have been denied bail after he was arrested on a royal defamation charge due to his speech at the <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/node/9383">second Harry Potter protest</a> on 3 August 2021 at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC).</p>

<p>The online royalist group Thailand Help Centre for Cyberbullying Victims has reportedly threatened to file lèse majesté charges, or Section 112 of the Thai Criminal Code, against over 100 people, whose personal details were released on a Google map link.</p>
