Two students from Chiang Mai University (CMU) have been found guilty of royal defamation and violation of the 1979 Flag Act for an art installation piece exhibited at an event in March 2021.

The Chiang Mai Provincial Court has dismissed a royal defamation charge against Ramil, a student at Chiang Mai University, for his performance in front of the university, stating that the evidence presented by the prosecution did not show Ramil's malicious intent in relation to the Section 112 offence.
