The Criminal Court has dismissed a sexual assault charge against Prinn Panitchpakdi, former deputy leader of the Democrat Party, citing a statute of limitations as well as the fact that he agreed with the alleged victim’s request to drop her off at a train station near her apartment.

Prinn Panitchapakdi, former deputy leader of the Democrat Party, faces an additional two years imprisonment following a sexual assault conviction.

<p>The timing is not good for the age-old party as their candidate campaigns to be governor of Bangkok.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Gender equality activists staged a demonstration in front of the Democrat Party headquarters on Monday (18 April) to demand accountability from the party after its former deputy leader Prinn Panitchpakdi was accused of having sexually assaulted at least 15 women.</p>
