A 26-year-old artist has been sentenced to three years in prison for royal defamation after posting an image of the King and other royal family members on his Facebook account.

A 26-year-old art punk artist from Khon Kaen has been sentenced to 1 year in prison for spray-painting political messages onto the wall of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. He was later granted provisional bail with 50,000 baht as security.

A 25-year-old activist was arrested on Tuesday (28 March) for spray-painting an anarchist symbol and the number 112 with a strike through it, signifying a protest against the royal defamation law, onto the wall of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, located within the Grand Palace.
