<p>The Thai authorities should fully and fairly prosecute the police officers responsible for the death of a drug suspect, as well as criminalize torture and establish a process independent of the police that can independently investigate and prosecute police officers for wrongdoing, said <a href="https://www.hrw.org/news/2021/08/26/thailand-drug-suspect-tortured-death?fbclid=IwAR3TibpTvZ8TsgnDlvDsKURteniVlIUq1uFxJ2QAA6lKZOnqAl5YDTgMxcI">Human Rights Watch today (26 August)</a>, following the release of a video clip showing Nakhon Sawan police officers torturing and killing 24-year-old Jeerapong Thanapat. </p>
