As Myanmar intensifies its military draft, a surge of middle-class Burmese youths are flocking to Thailand for education. This trend reveals the impact of Myanmar's political landscape on young lives, with Thailand becoming a crucial steppingstone before they seek further opportunities in other countries. The Cabinet has approved a proposal made by the National Security Council (NSC) to expedite the citizenship and permanent residency application process for immigrants who have been in Thailand for at least 15 years and ethnic minority children.
