At the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s award ceremony for the 2023 Albie Awards, lawyers from Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR) during their acceptance speech addressed the prosecution and detention of activists charged for political expression.

As the Criminal Court prepares to deliver a verdict in the royal defamation trial against human rights lawyer Anon Nampa next Tuesday (26 September), the South Korea-based May 18 Memorial Foundation issued a statement expressing concern about freedom of expression in Thailand.

Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR) was named a winner of the Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ)’s 2023 Albie Awards and presented with the Foundation’s annual Justice for Democracy Defenders Award.
