A protest took place in front of the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok today (8 July) to demand that China tackle contamination in the Mekong River and its tributaries due to Chinese mines upstream in Myanmar. They also condemned the police violence against participants in the protest in front of the Chinese Consulate-General in Chiang Mai on Monday (6 July).
