<p>During the pandemic, Thai musicians and workers in the music industry faced unemployment as bars and entertainment venues were ordered to close. Many had to sell their instruments to keep themselves afloat, or make a living doing whatever else they could, while some left the industry altogether.</p><p>In &quot;Unplugged: Music in Crisis,&quot; Thai musicians talk about their lives during and after the pandemic, and the future of creative economy in Thailand.</p>

<p>A network of musicians and entertainment workers filed a petition to the Prime Minister on Tuesday&nbsp;(23 November) to demand that entertainment businesses be allowed to reopen, after the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced on 12 November that their reopening date will be pushed back from 1 December to 16 January 2022.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Thailand Nightland and Entertainment Business Association (NEBA), along with a group of musicians, went to parliament on 1 July to submit a letter inquiring about their demands&nbsp;for assistance for workers in the nightlife and entertainment industry who have been affected by the Covid-19 lockdown, while the Commoner Band performed by the Parliament compound to show support for their colleagues, and to hold a memorial event for a musician who recently committed suicide.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Representatives from the sex worker rights group Empower Foundation went to Government House on Tuesday morning (29 June) to demand assistance from the government for sex workers and service sector workers affected by the closure of entertainment establishments during the Covid-19 pandemic.</p>

<p>A network of nightlife and entertainment professionals have petitioned the government for support for workers and business owners affected by the Covid-19 lockdown.</p>

<p>The Craft Beer Association, local beer producers and retailers, and entrepreneurs have filed a petition at the Ministry of Interior, urging the authorities to extend restaurant opening times till 23.00 and to allow on-site alcohol sales again in order for their businesses to stay alive.</p>
