<p>Mineral resource-related civil society network submitting a letter to the coalition of opposition parties asking for an inquiry into the restart of Phichit Gold Mine by Kingsgate Consolidated Limited, exposing four major flaws and how the mine has caused grave health impacts on the public, the environment, nature and local ecology.</p>

<p>Representatives of four high school student activist groups tell stories of the harassment and legal prosecution they now face after speaking out about human rights violations they face in school, reiterating that the right to freedom of expression is a constitutional right, while vowing to keep fighting nonetheless.</p>

<p>After more than two decades of struggle against quarry mining in Dongmafai sub District,&nbsp;Suwannakhuha&nbsp;District&nbsp;,NongBuaLamphu Province, the community women and men human rights defenders impacted by the mining will organize a blockade in an attempt to stop the mining operations.</p>

<p>On 23-24 July 2020, representatives from the United Nations&rsquo; Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Regional Office for South East Asia visited community-based women and men human rights defenders from Khon Rak Kroksomboon Group and Khon Rak Ban Nong Talad Group in Prachinburi Province, eastern Thailand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The People&#39;s Network of 5 Regions and a network of other NGOs submitted a letter on Tuesday (26 May) demanding the government revoke the Emergency Decree&nbsp;as it allows for blanket use of powers without required check and balance, causing concerns about abuse of power.&nbsp;</p>
