The deputy junta head ordered the authorities to launch investigations into the People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) and the anti-establishment red shirts for announcing their stands on the draft constitution.   Thai News Agency reported on Monday, 25 April 2016, that Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, the deputy junta head and Defence Minister, told the media that no one is allowed to criticise the junta-sponsored draft constitution publicly as the Draft Referendum Act is already in force.

The People’s Democratic Reform Committee (PDRC) anti-election group, has embraced the junta-sponsored draft charter, saying that it is a way out of the country’s political problems while the anti-establishment red shirts have urged the junta to lift the ban on debates over the draft.

On the sixth anniversary of the political violence of 10 April 2010, families of people who died commemorated their loss. On Sunday, 10 April 2016, a political activist group called ‘Chili Peppers’ organised an event at Khok Wua Intersection, Bangkok, to mourn the people who died at the beginning of the military crackdown on demonstrators of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), the main red-shirt faction, on 10 April 2010.

The Supreme Court has sentenced a key leader of the anti-establishment red shirts to six months imprisonment for defaming Abhisit Vejjajiva, former Prime Minister of the Democrat Party.

The National Anti-Corruption Commission has concluded that Abhisit Vejjajiva, former Democrat Party Prime Minister, and Suthep Thaugsuban, his former Deputy, are not guilty for ordering the violent military crackdown on the anti-establishment red-shirt protesters during the April-May 2010 political violence.

Update: Voice TV reported on Monday at 9:46 am that many police and military officers were deployed at Mahachai Muang Mai Market in Samut Sakhon Province where Jatuporn, Nattawut, and other UDD members planned to meet before travelling to Rajabhakdi Park. The officers have reportedly taken both Jatuporn and Nattawut into a military van.

The Appeal Court has sentenced a lecturer from a leading university to a month in jail for criticising and defaming the court. According to Matichon Online, the Court of Appeal on Thursday, 26 November 2015, sentenced Sudsanguan Suthisorn, a lecturer of the Faculty of Social Administration of Thammasat University, to a month in prison.

Thai military officers have asked the coordinator of a northern anti-establishment red shirt group not wear a red shirt to show support for the former Prime Minister.     According to Thailand Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR), military officers from the 34th Army Division on Monday, 26 October 2015, summoned Siriwat Jupamadta, coordinator of the United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), the main red shirt faction, of the northern province of Phayao for a discussion.

The Thai authorities have admitted that they blocked websites and Facebook pages of the anti-establishment red shirts to prevent them from broadcasting the anti-junta protest at the UN.

The Thai junta has prohibited an anti-establishment red shirt group to organise a discussion on the 2015 Constitution Draft, saying that the group would propagate false information to malise the regime.

Military officers paid a visit to an anti-establishment red shirt man in northern Thailand, asking his opinions on Thailand’s new draft constitution. According to the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR), four military officers in plainclothes on Saturday afternoon, 29 August 2015, came to have a discussion with Siriwat Jupamadta, a coordinator of United Front for Democracy Against Dictatorship (UDD), a red shirt group, at his office in the northern province of Phayao.
