<p>The activist group Thalufah returned in a third protest march to demand the resignation of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha, which ended again with police violence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Protests took place on Sunday (15 August) in at least 16 provinces across the country against the government&rsquo;s mishandling of the Covid-19 pandemic and demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha.</p>

<p>Lawyers are not being allowed to meet with activist Jatupat &ldquo;Pai Dao Din&rdquo; Boonpattararaksa, who has been detained since Monday (9 August), claiming Covid-19 quarantine measures prevent it.</p>

<p>A protest march organized by the activist group Thalufah was dispersed by crowd control police armed with tear gas and rubber bullets even before they left their starting point at the Victory Monument.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nine activists have been arrested on charges relating to a protest in front of the Border Patrol Police Region 1 headquarters on 2 August 2021 to demand the release of <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/node/9377">32 detained activists</a>.</p>
