  At approximately 9.30 pm on 5 June, Sombat Boonngamanong was seized in Phan Thong district in Chonburi province. The team that seized him was composed of officers from the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) working with members of the 21st Army Infantry Regiment.   The National Intelligence Agency located him by tracing his IP address.    In the event of arrest, he left this pre-recorded message to be circulated on social media and YouTube.

The bold attempt by the ruling Pheu Thai Party to pass a blanket amnesty bill has greatly upset anti-establishment red shirts. Many red shirts have become uncertain of who to vote for in the next general election. As the amnesty issue has made it clearer that Pheu Thai may not always comply with the will of the red shirts, the idea of establishing an alternative party has been raised and widely discussed. Prachatai talked to a red-shirt supporter, a new alternative party leader and academics to find out about this possibility.

A few thousand anti-establishment red-shirt supporters gathered at Ratchaprasong intersection, a commercial district of Bangkok, to protest against the controversial blanket amnesty draft bill and show support for the ruling Pheu Thai government.

Increased access to the internet in Thailand can bridge the social gap between rural people and townspeople, experts said at INET Bangkok 2013, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre on June 7-8. Since today many rural areas in Thailand still experience difficulties in using the Internet, a gap divides people even in the same country.
