<p>Activist and human rights lawyer Anon Nampa remains in detention, after he was denied bail by the South Bangkok Criminal Court despite being granted bail by other courts, while student activist Parit Chiwarak was released yesterday (24 February 2022) after his lawyer presented evidence of his enrolment at Thammasat University.</p>

<p>6 activists from the Thalufah group had their bail revoked last Friday (21 January 2022) for writing on the wall of a court arraignment room when they reported to the court on 18 January 2022, before one was released on Saturday (22 January 2022).</p>

<p>Student activist Benja Apan was granted bail today (14 January) by the South Bangkok Criminal Court after spending 99 days in prison and having been previously repeatedly denied bail.</p>

<p>The South Bangkok Criminal Court has extended student activist Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul&rsquo;s bail period until 25 May 2022.</p>

<p>An investigation by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) found that police officers have used excessive force during operations against pro-democracy protesters and that there have been many instances of human rights violations.</p>

<p>In a statement issued on Monday&nbsp;(27 December), the lawyer of activists Parit Chiwarak, Panupong Jadnok, Anon Nampa, and Jatupat Boonpattararaksa announced that his clients will not be filing another bail request, having been denied bail again last Friday (24 December).</p>

<p>Activists and protesters gathered in front of the Bangkok Remand Prison on Sunday evening (26 December) to celebrate student activist Panupong Jadnok&rsquo;s birthday, after he was denied bail along with 3 other activists last Friday (24 December).</p>

<p>A protester has been sentenced to 2 months in prison on a contempt of court charge for cutting his arm in court to protest the denial of bail for detained activists.</p>

<p>Student activist Nutchanon Pairoj has been sentenced to 2 months in prison on a contempt of court change relating to a <a href="https://prachatai.com/english/node/9218">protest in front of the Ratchadaphisek Criminal Court on 30 April 2021</a> to demand the release of detained student activist Parit Chiwarak.</p>

<p>Student activist Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul has been granted bail to allow her to complete class projects and take her final examinations, after spending 17 days in detention.</p>

<p>A flashmob took place in front of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) on Saturday (20 November) to demand the right to bail for activists detained pending trial on charges related to participation in pro-democracy protests.&nbsp;</p>
