A military court has sentenced to jail an activist demanding a probe into the Rajabhakti Park corruption allegations.
On 25 January 2017, the Military Court of Bangkok handed out 8 months of imprisonment to Thanet Anantawong for defying the junta’s ban on political gatherings of five or more persons.
The military court judges, however, halved the jail term to four months after Thanet pleaded guilty.

A criminal court has handed a two-year suspended jail term to a witness of Thailand’s April-May 2010 political violence accused of defaming the Thai Army.
On 8 December 2016, the Criminal Court of Thailand sentenced Thanaporn (surname withheld due to privacy concerns) to two years of imprisonment with a 100,000 baht fine, according to iLaw. The court suspended the jail term for two years.

On 3 November 2016, the Military Court of the northern province of Chiang Rai granted police permission to continue to detain Sarawut (surname withheld due to privacy concerns), a 32-year-old optometrist, the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights (TLHR) reported.

In a raid on a tattoo parlor, police arrested a 16-year-old teenager who allegedly posted a lèse majesté message on a fake Facebook account posing as his girlfriend’s stepmother. The fake account and the post had been made at his girlfriend’s request.

A criminal court has handed an additional eight-year jail term to a man who was previously sentenced to six years of imprisonment for lèse majesté.
On 10 October 2016, the criminal court on Ratchadapisek Rd, Bangkok, handed an eight-year jail term to Piya J., a 48 year-old programmer, for an offence under Article 112 of the Criminal Code, the lèse majesté law. He was accused of sending two emails with messages deemed defamatory to the King to Bangkok Bank under an online identity ‘Vincent Wang’.

The military prosecutor has indicted two embattled anti-junta critics under the lèse majesté law for allegedly defaming the Thai monarchy in a private Facebook chat.
Staff of the of the Military Judge Advocate General's Office on Tuesday, 2 August 2016, officially indicted Harit Mahaton and Natthika Worathaiwich for offences under Article 112 of the Criminal Code, the lèse majesté law.
The two are accused of defaming the Thai monarchy in private correspondence via Facebook chat.
